TRPA’S Alternate Reality
Cindy Gustafson’s November 11th opinion piece, “Regional Plan Delivers On Its Promise” is more agency greenwashing spin.
The Regional 2012 plan has failed by almost all measures: traffic, congestion, lake clarity, invasive species, air quality, wildfires, degradation of the land, too many short term rentals and affordable housing. Herbicide is being used in the lake.
The 2012 Regional Plan focused on the economy. More height, coverage and density with large projects was the solution. That didn’t work either. The projects were too big and expensive to build. Now TRPA claims enough hasn’t been done.
TRPA’s latest solution? More, more, more. More of the same. More density, height and coverage. The TRPA has authorized proceeding with analyzing these changes and Placer County is working it through the system now.
Once again, it’s an early Christmas for developers. Cindy Gustafson, listen to the people that live here, not the developers.
