TRPA Continues Push to Urbanize North Tahoe- DAY OF RECKONING IS HERE-12/13/23

On 12/6/23, TRPA’s Advisory Planning Commission voted to recommend approval of the Placer County’s Tahoe Basin Area Plan to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA). Litigation has been filed against the plan due to the absence of an environmental review by the Friends of the West Shore, North Tahoe Preservation Alliance, and Tahoe Clean Air.

Mountain Area Preservation and the Tahoe Area Sierra Club have also registered consistent alarm.

TRPA’s scheme isn’t about the environment. It’s everything to do with business. Building 65’ structures on 100% of a lot with unlimited density and no parking inside and outside of town centers is just the beginning. It’s phase 2. Phase 3 will just be MORE.

As Seth Dallob, CEO of a Seattle affordable housing builder and South Tahoe resident says in the 12/8/23 Tahoe Tribune, “I can’t make affordable/achievable housing feasible.” He claims developers need even MORE freebies-land, permits, and financing costs.

TRPA must be stopped. — Be there if at all possible—WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 13^th at the TRPA offices on the south shore. 128 Market Street, Stateline, Nevada. Meeting won’t begin before 12:30.

TRPA’s governance mindset is beyond shameful. It makes no sense. It’s unbelievable, it’s scary.

We all want workforce and affordable housing that is affordable. TRPA’s scheme for achievable housing with no income cap will likely create less affordable housing.
