EKN/Boulder Bay Begins Crystal Bay Excavation Monday Morning

At 8:30 am Saturday 9/24 EKN noticed a few “special” people that excavation would begin Monday morning 9/26 on the Wassou/Lakeview connector road.
The following issues remain:

1.  The new “promised” project plan details haven’t been submitted to or approved by TRPA.
2. EKN has allowed the existing blighted buildings to be further destroyed by allowing holes in the roofs, busted window and doors.
3.  The dispute with Granite Place Condos over the location of the 4^th exit from upper Crystal Bay (Wellness Way) hasn’t been resolved.
4.  The formerly permitted project was approved under a set of circumstances that no longer exists.
5. This piecemeal excavation is part of a much larger new excavation that must be reviewed by TRPA.
6. A new traffic study should be performed once the onsite population is disclosed. (former project touted 2448 population).

Is this simply a manipulation of the process and system?A controversial project begun with short notice and no detail?Claiming it will be smaller, but the same height and footprint isn’t reassuring and defies logic.Clearly EKN is just going to go ahead.
