Boulder Bay Project Won’t Deliver
There is:
- No immediate replacement emergency 4th exit for Wassou between Reservoir and Stateline for up to 5 years. By eliminating an exit from upper Crystal Bay, Washoe County has made our area LESS safe and materially changed the conditions of abandonment approved in June 2021. Washoe County has failed to provide safeguards for the Public if the developer fails to build replacement roads.
- No TRPA or Washoe County revised project approvals. The project has changed as evidenced by a new site plan requiring TRPA review. No description of proposed project, uses, # of units, building locations or heights have been provided.
- No Evidence of an existing acknowledged TRPA Permit and paid fees. Although requiring acknowledgment within 21 days, the 2014 TRPA permit application hasn’t been signed by the applicant.
- No current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between TRPA and Washoe County. Without a valid MOU all large projects must first go in front of TRPA; not Washoe County.
The Wassou public right of way between Reservoir and Stateline Rd. will be taken immediately and put in the new developer’s name. All the above issues must get resolved before the County takes our Roads away and excavates 190,000 CY of soil removing nearly every tree.
